What we haul

Appliance removal in Phoenix

We take out old refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters for residential and commercial customers, from a kitchen swap at home to a row of units at a rental property.

This is "full-service removal": the crew comes inside, walks the appliance out on a dolly from wherever it stands and loads it, so you never move it yourself. Rolling it to the driveway first is "curbside junk removal", and it costs less. Just the old fridge and nothing else is fine too; a "single-item pickup" is the smallest job there is.

  • Refrigerators

    Top-freezer, side-by-side and garage units

  • Freezers

    Chest and upright models

  • Washers

    Top-load and front-load

  • Dryers

    Electric and gas models

  • Stoves

    Ranges and cooktops

  • Water heaters

Tank units from a garage or closet

Before pickup day

Disconnecting an appliance before pickup

Appliances must be disconnected before pickup, so the hookups are dealt with ahead of the crew rather than on the day.

  1. Call with the list

Tell us which appliances, which rooms, and whether stairs or a long walk lie between them and the truck.

  2. Unhook it

Unplug it, close the water valve and drain the hoses, and leave a gas line to someone qualified to cap it.

  3. We carry it out

Removing it is our part: the crew walks it out on a dolly, loads it and sweeps the floor where it stood.

  4. It goes where it should

Metal, coolant and electronics each have their own path, covered just below.

Coolant

Refrigerators, coolant and certified technicians

A refrigerator that still holds coolant has to be handled by certified technicians, because appliance disposal done the wrong way can harm the environment.

That is also why refrigerator removal counts as special handling when a job is priced. What remains once the coolant is out is mostly metal: EPA durable goods data list steel as the main material in major appliances like refrigerators and washers.

E-waste

Electronics, tube TVs and e-waste

Old electronics go to certified "e-waste" recyclers, who recover the usable parts and safely deal with batteries and with cathode ray tubes, which contain lead.

A big old tube television, a "CRT", needs that special recycling and does not belong in a landfill load. The EPA's electronics donation and recycling guidance says to donate what still works and send the rest to certified recyclers. Loose batteries are their own matter: the City of Phoenix household hazardous waste program says they never go in the trash or the recycling bin.

Pricing

What appliance removal costs

Appliance removal typically falls in the range shown here, and items that need special handling, such as a refrigerator with coolant or old electronics, add to the cost.

  • Stairs and long carries

Stairs, elevator access and a long walk to the truck add labor; a garage or driveway pickup where the truck pulls right up keeps it low.

  • When you book

Same-day and weekend jobs cost more than ones booked days ahead.

  • Several appliances at once

Per-item pricing charges the top price once and a lower price for each added appliance, so washer and dryer removal together costs less than booking them apart.

  • Curb or kitchen

Curbside pickup, where you set it outside, is the cheapest service level.

Neighbors on the crew that came out

Nathan , and his fellow worker ( I forget his name) were great! They were very quick in being available to help us out in the same week we called them. They did a thorough job in removing and emptying out an apartment; and a complete storage room the very next day~~ during a week we were in town because of a loved ones death. I highly recommend them. Very, very nice young men!

Came the same day I called them. Two great guys. Took everything and we thought the price was very fair. We would definitely call them again.

Out in the yard

Hot tubs and other heavy items

A hot tub is the heaviest item most yards hold, and it is removed by cutting it down, a job with its own page.

  • Hot tubs and spas

Drained, disconnected, cut into sections and carried out through the gate.

  • Plastic spas

A "rotomold" shell is lighter, and easier and cheaper to remove, than heavy acrylic.

  • Sheds and play sets

Taking a small structure down is "light demolition", and its debris rides out with the load; larger demolition needs a licensed contractor.

  • Patio fridges and garage freezers

An outdoor unit follows the same coolant rule as the kitchen refrigerator.
